Meeting Mambo Dee in Miami.

Mambo Dee is a fairly skinny and very pretty black woman who is dressed in typical African clothing.  She is from Haiti and speaks with a strong accent.

MD – Come in child – I am Mambo Dee – So now, tell me of the “petit” you have found?

<….>

MD – Well do you have anything personal of this child then? No? Ok –let us see what the Loa can tell us…

Mambo Dee Walks into another room in the Djevo, and motions for Raven to follow her.  This is a small room with a round table in the center. There are some drawings on the table, drawings you are not familiar with.  She reaches for a bag on the left side – and picks up what appears to be a brown leather bag.

She shakes the bag with her eyes closed and begins to chant in French something you are not sure of.  Suddenly in the noise that the bag makes begins to get louder and louder and louder and all you hear all around you are whispers from her chanting and the sound of the bones being shaken in the bag.  The noise grows as in a crescendo.

She finally tosses the bones onto the table, and at this moment all of the noise stops.  She peers over the table and stares at it for a long time.

MD – Hmmm – did you say this child was new to the powers of the occult? Because that is not what I am seeing here.  She is experienced my dear, she has been practicing her craft for quite some time.  I also see that she does not know the power she has – this power was given to her by her mother.

She also has a dark presence around her – an old soul – in pain so much pain.  This …hmmm… this… but this girl already has a protector, my dear?   <….>

MD – well from what I see here, is that this girl does not know the power she has.  She uses this power but she is unaware of how much she can do.  If she keeps using this power like this – out in the open like this with no protection she is gonna draw attention to herself.   She needs to learn to connect with the Loa and draw on them for protection and guidance.  This girl does not need to be taught to tap into her power – she can do that – she needs to learn to value that power and protect herself.

Her mother was a woman of faith – but this girl – she has no faith and her power is rooted in her spirit not on faith.  The girl is spoiled and doesn’t understand her power and the consequences of using that power.  This protector has shielded her from a great many things – but there are things that even vampires cannot see – and she needs to learn to be prepared.

Mambo Dee – I cannot help your girl – she is one with the gift – she has an awakened spirit that I cannot help her tame. She needs to meet other awakened ones that can show her things I cannot.

She walks out – she goes into the living room, in a small jeweled box on her mantle and pulls a card from it.  The card has only one address.
