Hunting for Gavin – Scott’s “Betrayal”

Neil and Scott will be hunting for Gavin – mainly trying to find out what he is up to – shadowing him.

If Darwin finds out what they are up to – from the shadows – he will attack Scott. Scott will dodge…

D – You BETRAYED ME!

S – NO! I DID NOT!

D – I EXPECTED THIS FROM THE OTHERS – BUT YOU?

S – Will you let me explain?

D – What is there to explain when I heard you myself!?

S – Stop attacking me and I will explain.  Or we can do this all night if you’re bored…

D – All I need Is one hit..

S – Ok really – you really want to hit me? Or do you want me to explain to you the plan? This is why you’re in the dark – because you DON’T LISTEN!

Darwin stops.

D – Ok then – explain quickly

S – Alright – and no hitting and no mind tricks?

D – I have no desire to be in your mind, trust me.

S – Well good then – because I have a lot going on up here – too much really to explain and..

D – EDWARD??

S – Ok ok ok – we were following him, to find out what he is up to – how many people has working for him and with him.  We were trying to find out where he sleeps, where he hunts, who is helping him etc.  All of this – to help YOU.

D – And you lied to me – when I asked if you had found him – you LIED – you said YOU DID NOT!

S – YES – I lied – but mainly because if I told you that I had seen him, you would run off in a rush to attack him without any of the additional info.  Come on, D – you have to admit that when it comes to Gavin, you tend to act…. rashly.

D – How do you expect me to act after what this animal did to me…. He…

S – Yes yes, I know – I heard it a thousand times – blood, revenge, anger, etc – I KNOW – believe me – I GET IT.  But this is exactly why we did this.  We want you to win – We  don’t want to see you go in after him and then fail because he had some kind of trick up his sleeve.  You KNOW Gavin – he always has some kind of trick.

D – Who is “we”? Who else knows about this? Who else lied to me?

S – Ok so from everything that I just said, all you heard is the “we”? Ok, I take it all back, you are not rash – you are a fucking lunatic.  Will you for ONCE – ONCE – pay attention and listen to the people trying to help you? I am not saying I don’t want you to go after this guy – I am saying lets go with a smart plan – a plan that will GUARANTEE that you will win.  Isn’t that better than just running off half-cocked?

D – Half-cocked?

S – Ok sometimes I forget that slang is just lost on you.  Ok – lets continue to gather information on him and then once we know what he is up to, who is helping him, etc – THEN we go after him.  You waited for him for centuries – what’s a few more days?

D – I want to kill him myself

S – Yes I know, blood, guts, kill, anger – I know.  You will – no one is going to try to kill him behind your back – THAT is a certainty.  We just want to make sure that when you face him, you are facing only him and not him and all his friends.  Do you even know who his friends are these days? He never acts alone – you KNOW this.

D – Well, no – I do not know who his friends are. But it matters not – I will …

S – Yes – kill him – you will.  What if in the process of killing him, his friends go after the people you care about.  What if they go after Claude?

D – Claude can take care of himself

S – And Clarissa? Can she take care of herself?

D – I have kindred protecting her

S – Yes and do you think that will matter? Need I remind you of the whole Beatrice debacle? Do you want a repeat of that?

D – Well .. no

S – Ok then – so lets go back home and look over the info I have.  Ok?

D – Fine – you have information on him now – you know all of this?

S – I know some – if you give us a few more days, we will know more.  Alright?

D – Fine

S – Ok can we get in the car now? I mean the carriage – can we get in the carriage now? I believe Neil drove his carriage here.

Darwin looks to Neil – Scott motions for them to walk towards the car.  Darwin will start walking towards the car and will be silent the entire way home.  It is a very uncomfortable silence.
