The Conclave Opening Cerimony
1) Everyone moves in and takes their seat. Some kindred comes out – he is in a blue robe – and says the meeting is now in session. Conclave session 209.
2) The Founders are acknowledged by the council
A – The Council recognizes and is honored to have the presence of our 5 Kindred Founders here today.
She points to each Kindred and announces them. They nod to the group. They leave Xavier for last
1) Lord Derek of Kent
2) Prince Edward Scott of Tudor
3) Lord Thorus
4) Dietrich
5) Xavier
Toreador Elder – I noticed that you are not wearing your founders robes, My lord Xavier. Please note that proper attire at all Camarilla functions is required by amendment 576. Do you need a new robe my lord?
X – No
Toreador – Then you have your robe
X – No
Toreador – what happened to your Robe, My Lord?
X – I burned it, Robes are stupid
<GASP>
Ilana – Considering that his Lordship has not been here for quite some time and also the fact that we are honored by his presence, we will forgo Ammendent 576 for now, My Lady Mila.
<Toreador does not look happy>
Ilana – Now I would like to welcome everyone else here to our Conclave meeting. Some of you have traveled quite far and we are very happy you were able to come. We have many issues to discuss in this meeting and a few announcements to make as well.
Darwin stands up
D – I have an announcement.
Illana looks annoyed
I – Very well, I yield the floor to his Lordship, Derek of Kent
D – Thank you. I call for my right of Return – I wish to re-take my position as Justicar.
<gasps all around the room>
Viktor stands up with a broad grin on his face. He walks over to Darwin and takes off his cloak and hands it to him and says, “My Lord, it is with great pleasure that I return what is rightfully yours”
D- Thank you, Viktor
Ilanna – Well, Viktor we all know how eager you are to pass on the mantle of Justicar, however, the council will need to deliberate on this matter.
Darwin – The Council will deliberate on nothing. I am a founder, it is my right and it not up to the council – or have you forgotten Camarilla LAW?
<murmuring>
Nathan – He is quite correct, My Lady. A founder’s right of return is above the council decision – it is a right given to founders through Camarilla law and cannot be affected by any amendments.
Illana- Not happy – Very well then – we acknowledge his Lordship’s request – welcome back, Justicar Kent.
<Voice from the stands> I object!
<Everyone turns to look>
A man in a white robe is standing up. He continues
MW – I am sorry to interrupt but I object. We have no proof that this kindred is who he claims to be, and handing over the mantle of Justicar without proof seems that it is not in the best interest of the Camarilla and those who the camarilla serves. Most of us have never met the founder – he has been gone for centuries – he may even be dead for all we know.
D – And who are you?
MW – I am Pierre de Lancourt – Ventrue Prince of Paris
D – and how long have you been the Prince of Paris?
MW – for almost 200 years now/
D – Well he has a valid point. I yield the floor to you, my lord – please come down here and state your case.
The man gets up – fixes his robes looking very regal. He slowly walks down to the middle of the floor. Darwin gets up from behind his “bench” and moves to the center of the floor as well.
S – Whispers under his breath – “no no no – don’t do it – don’t go down there – don’t do it”
D – Your claim is that you cannot be sure that I am who I say I am is that correct?
MW – Indeed – that is correct. I believe you to be an imposter. We have no way to validate that you are truly him – are we just supposed to take your word for it?
Darwin moves quickly and reaches in and grabs the mans heart and rips it from his chest. He does this with such force that the body barely even moves. The man’s body crumbles to dust and the heart in his hands does the same.
D – Read a book – I am listed <he says to the pile of ashes> Anyone else object and believes that I am an imposter?
Dietrich giggles and claps – then he notices that everyone is looking at him and he says “Sorry – I apologize – I just got excited” he says with another giggle.
Illana – My Lord things have changed since you were last here. We do not kill kindred at the conclave – it is… “rude”
Darwin – I do not believe I yielded the floor back to you, My lady.
Darwin – I now yield the floor to his excellency, Prince Edward.
Scott – Uhm thank you – but no need – I don’t need the floor.
Darwin walks over to Edward. The two whisper for a bit and then Edward finally says.
Edward – Well I have nothing to add – so I will yield the floor to Xavier then – there you go all yours big guy.
Xavier – I take back my seat of Justicar.
<Gasps and murmurs>
Illana – My Lord, you do realize that this will bring Clan Gangrel back into the fold of the Camarilla, correct?
X – Yes
Illana – very well – we will give you some time for your clan to appoint someone as Clan Elder.
X – Fiona
Illana – excuse me?
He points to Fiona – she stands up – “Fiona is going to do the political Job”
Illana – Very well, although since the appointment of Elders IS governed by a Camarilla Ammendment, the council does have to review her as candidate to this position. We will deliberate in tomorrow’s meeting.
Very well – now that we have that out of the way, I would like to move on to some announcements.
Darwin stands up – Before that, I have an urgent issue to discuss.
Illana – I believe, My Lord, that I have not yielded the floor to you at this time. Please wait your turn.
Darwin looks aggravated but he sits down and waits.
Scott Whispers to Alanwa – I give 30 minutes max before he explodes.
Ilana talks for about 30 minutes – announcing new Princedoms, goes over the events calendar for the week, announces the matters up for discussion this conclave:
1) several princedoms are too large and must be split in two to be easier to manage – she has a list
2) The vote of representation
3) Update to the 10 Most wanted list
4) Sentencing of various kindred being held at the Camarilla holding cells.
5) The ever growing Sabbat Threat in Europe – operating as cells much like the humans are for terrorism
6) Assassination of 6 Princes within the last 2 years.
She finally is done and looks at Darwin
Illana – My Lord Kent, I yield the floor to you, do you wish to add anything to this list?
Darwin – Yes – <points at Gregor> I want his life. He has failed the Camarilla and is not upholding the oath he has taken, His actions are no different than those of the Sabbat and put us all in danger.
<Gasps all around>
Illana – I take it you have proof of these so called crimes he committed?
Darwin- Yes – I have testimony.
Illana – and what testimony is that?
Darwin – I have Alanwa – a victim of one of his plots – she will testify on all that she saw, and I have the word of Prince Edward, whose skills in Auspex are well documented in the history of the camarilla.
MW – Stands up – So in essence you have no Proof – you have the word of a Kindred and the so called skill of the Brujah Founder?
Diedre – Are you doubting the skill of our Founder, tremere?
MW – I am just pointing out that this seems like flimsy evidence in which to request the life of our Justicar.
Nathan – Please calm yourselves – the council will hear all evidence in this matter and make a ruling once the Evidence is heard. <He looks to Diedra> My Lady, I assure you that no one is doubting the skills of your founder.
